There is no more pure and simple way to quantify painting than color and form. I think that that a realization of this happens at precisely the moment in the life of an artist when the artist has arrived. That is, from the moment of that realization, nothing else is important enough any more to cloud the consciousness of journey into any realm, or the exploration or portrayal of any subject. From then on the only essential is an awareness of color and form, and that the skies are the limit as to what could be accomplished once an artist recognizes that.

For that reason I don’t feel there is any need to complicate the title of this show. It is “Pure Color and Form”, and the subject is color and form. It doesn’t get much simpler. I hope any viewers of the artwork at the showing enjoy the recent studio figure paintings and earlier and also recent plein-air painting.

I have found much pleasure recently in returning to the studio to produce figures, many of which are to be shown, and which I hope will serve to share in my renewed excitement about expressing myself as a human being - my experiences of being a person in this life, in this body, on this planet, among my fellows throughout this process. The ultimate experience is exploring the unlimited potential in color and form, as a medium for sharing, in my unique choice of colors and forms.
